04 about
ZCA was founded by licensed architect Zsuzsanna Cionca in 2016. After over a decade of working for well established architectural firms in the Bay Area, she launched her freelance residential design career in 2011. Her mentors, Jon Jang Arch. and Robert Peterson Arch., were instrumental in inspiring and encouraging her to pursue her passion for architecture.
​Zsuzsanna has a Master of Architecture degree from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Design, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
She started her career in architectural rehabilitation and historical building restoration.
Her everyday design draws from the exploration of new ideas during her annual trips to different areas of Europe, where she visits family in Romania along the way.​
When she's not designing, Zsuzsanna enjoys hiking in the hills or strolling along beach trails, often accompanied by her husband, and occasionally by her adult daughter or teenage son. She also takes pleasure in cooking Hungarian or Romanian specialties and gardening at home.​

Fun fact: If you ever visit Romania, be sure to explore Dracula's Castle in Hunedoara. Don’t miss the Gothic Knight’s Hall and Diet Hall, the site of her last historical building restoration project.
